Does what you eat matter? Are you eating your way to chronic disease and consequences? The research is in, and the evidence is clear: your health is the accumulated results of what you eat. It is all too easy to eat yourself into chronic disease if you don’t choose food that is good for your body. Don’t live by chance when you can live longer and happier by choice.

How? Eat plant-based. I only see one way to increase your odds of a long joy-filled life. Eat a low-fat diet with lots of fiber. Are you curious to learn more?

Grass Roots Teaching

That’s where Food For Life (FFL) comes in. Educating people on the importance of making healthy food choices that seem imperceptible at the time but collectively prevent chronic diseases and help align good health with extended lifespan*.

Yours truly, the Sarasota Area’s newest FFL instructor, presented an inaugural series of classes on Zoom focused on preventing and reversing diabetes. The first four of eight classes about plant-based eating were from the FFL Diabetes Initiative: 1. Foods That Fight Diabetes, 2. Understanding Type 2 Diabetes, 3. Fighting Diabetes With The Power Plate & Grocery Cart and 4. Designing a Diet for Maximum Weight Control.

About The Diabetes Initiative

The classes were fun and informative with videos from Dr. Neal Barnard, MD, Author of Reversing Diabetes, cooking demonstrations, resources, and recipes. Food For Life has added a survey results dashboard that provides real-time results from class surveys and the results are in…

  • 26 Total Participants
  • 5 out of 5 for content quality
  • 4.95 out of 5 for an enjoyable class experience
  • 62% will eat more plant foods: fruits, grains, vegetables, and beans.
  • 42% will eat less meat and dairy products

Eating out was shown to be the hardest about eating a plant-based diet. A problem that has solutions which we will address in an upcoming post.
