The concept behind New Earth Partners comes from a vision of people joining together through personal choices as silent partners in systemic consumer-based change toward a sustainable and equitable future.

The time for a major transition has come and is in the early stages of moving from animal protein and products to the tipping point and beyond for plant-based products. The value of producing animal-based products through the factory-farming industry has passed, yet it continues to grow because it generates such massive wealth.

People are changing their lifestyles, despite efforts to the contrary, through what they choose to consume for better health, animal compassion, and the environment. The reasons, knowledge, and resources are readily available yet slowed in the grinding wheels of change resistance.

For perspective, 80% of the world’s agricultural land use is for animal feed and livestock. By comparison crops for human consumption account for about 16%.

It takes an average of 1,850 gallons of water to produce one pound of beef. While it takes 256 gallons of water to produce one pound of soybeans, 220 gallons of water to produce one pound of wheat, and 148 gallons of water to produce one pound of corn.

In terms of lifestyle and health take a look at these numbers…

  • Heart disease: the leading cause of death in the United States affects more than 79 million Americans and is responsible for 40% of all deaths.
  • Cancer: the second leading cause of death in the United States, cancer diagnoses number 1.7 million each year, with more than 600,000 deaths.
  • Diabetes: more than 38 million Americans have diabetes, and another 98 million have prediabetes.
  • Obesity: 20% of children and 42% of adults are obese, which puts them at risk for chronic diseases like type 2 diabetes, heart disease, and some cancers.
  • Arthritis: he number of people with arthritis is expected to increase to 67 million by 2030.
  • The Healthcare System is over burdened by noncommunicable diseases. The science proves that a plant-based food system would greatly reduce the demand for healthcare and could lower costs.
